Herbed Cream Cheese
Serves 5
1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
1 clove garlic, finely minced
1 teaspoon each fresh herbs; dill, parsley, basil, thyme, lemon balm, chives
Salt and pepper, to taste
Splash of lemon juice
Optional: fresh nasturtiums, chopped-- I like to make my food colorful
In a large bowl, mix cream cheese and butter together with a wooden spoon or beater. Add the garlic and herbs and mix thoroughly. Season mixture to taste with salt and pepper. Then add enough lemon juice to make the cheese smooth.
To use immediately, load a pastry bag (or a ziplock back with a corner snipped off) with cheese and pipe onto crackers. Top with sliced tomato.
This is yummy on bagels.
